Dear Board Members:

I have attended many TCAN concerts and I am also an organizational psychologist who has consulted for non-profit organizations.

It is clear to me that TCAN has gotten itself into a serious situation. Antagonism between Board and the CEO is always regretful, but the peremptory firing of a very popular CEO is a disaster that puts your entire organization at risk. That is because such a move seriously alienates the community that is the lifeblood of the organization. TCAN is not so strong or so wealthy that it can afford to antagonize members, donors, event attendees like myself.

Fixing this mess will not be easy, but mediation is a compelling option. It does not obligate either party, but does allow the best opportunity to address the many issues in play. There are some very skilled mediators in the area.

Give them a call.

Sincerely,

Dr Peter M. Hogan
