Board of Directors:
As a performer
and leader of a small jazz orchestra, I had the opportunity to
perform at TCAN about a year and a half ago. Through doing so,
I got to know Michael a little and since then, I have been on
the mailing list, receiving updates of performances and the move
to the firehouse. I don't get out to Natick much (I live in Somerville),
but this much is clear: people like Michael Moran are rare and
hard to find. NO ONE in the whole region has put time and sweat
into creating a vital performing arts organization from zero.
Why? Probably because the risk is so high and the rewards are
so low. TCAN has clearly become a special community-based place
in a time when most arts venues have their eyes on the bottom
line only. TCAN is more and better largely because of the efforts
of this one individual. Why should anyone else ever start something
up elsewhere when they see what has happened in Natick as an example.
Please do
the right thing and reinstate Michael Moran.
Thank you.
