Dear
Board,
I am one of those volunteers disappointed over the treatment of
Michael Moran. I have one possible explanation for this mess for
you to consider. I have heard others suggest that the differences
between Mr. Moran and the board have been growing pains of an organization
wondering how fast or slow it should grow with the pressures of
a new more expensive space. May I suggest that Mr. Moran was not
moving fast enough for the board and the board wanted to move too
fast for Mr. Moran. Without time, discussion, research, analysis
and experimentation, neither scenario can be judged as correct.
I feel it would be supercilious for any board member to claim,
“Michael didn't grow in a management sense”; Perhaps
the board has grown a bit too big in the wrong places.
My best to you in this time of self reflection. May you dare to
take the path less level and pledge the time it takes to plan rather
than steam roll the troubles away.
Sincerely,
Maureen Tannetta
