 Means new stuff

Dear TCAN,

I was mystified at the dismissal of Michael Moran as director. As you may be aware, I was one of the original board members, but I didn't last long. My interest was in the music, not in the business end of things, or even in the aspect of the organization that was centered around getting a big fancy facility. When I recognized that that's what the original board was all about, I figured I should step aside and let people who were more interested in that stuff have the jobs.

I admire what has been accomplished -- the acquisition and rehabbing of the fire hall. However, to this day, I'm convinced that the part of TCAN that appeals to me is not the building but the music -- especially the folk music -- but also the other unconventional types of music that Michael championed.

At this point, without Michel, I have no confidence that the organization will continue to provide the kinds of things I'm looking for. I hope I'm wrong. I'll keep my eyes on the situation watching for signs of health.

I hope you reconsider your dismissal of Michael. Pending that action, I'm afraid I'll have to withdraw my membership support. Also, we purchased a brick to go in the sidewalk. This was kind of a financial stretch for us, but we thought it was the right thing to do. If I remember correctly, the payment for the brick was supposed to be in the form of 3 annual payments. You can keep the initial payment of course, but I am going to have to withhold the next two payments. Sorry, but need to know that the decisions you make have repercussions.

Of course, if and when Michael returns, I will reconsider both our membership commitment, and our funding of the brick program.

Thanks

Pete Rossetti
