It is with significant
discomfort, hurt, and heartfelt sincerity that we are issuing this
memorandum to you. As unpaid volunteers, we have collectively poured
thousands of hours into an organization that was built on emotion,
empathy, compassion, and desire to build a true community environment.
As was stated by George Fiske, "Largely because of Michael's
tenacity and determination, 'The Center' has become a reality."
Unfortunately this is a gross understatement that does not provide
Michael the full credit he deserves. "The Center" IS a
reality because of Michael's tenacity and determination and VISION
that "The Arts are a rich form of communication that allows
us to meet, understand and accept one another."
We certainly understand
that "With growth comes change and with change comes a revitalization
of spirit." However, there are always multiple paths to get
from point "A" to point "B." By ignoring the
previous plea by this group that mediation be pursued to resolve
the conflict between the board and Michael, and until such time
as a resolution of the conflict is achieved, it is with great regret
that the below group will no longer be able to support the organization
and its current direction. As such, at the present time, we will
not be volunteering our time to the following sample list of activities:
*Phonathon
*Building maintenance
*Computer technical support
*Event Volunteer coordination
*Organization of the quarterly calendar mailing
*Participation in the TCAN Players
*Coordination of the Mystery Snack Theater
*Leadership of the open
mike events including committed support for performers
*Event technical support
*Daytime desk volunteering
*Membership committee
*Maintenance committee
